It's cheap. I pity the poor shinys who face it. We must continue to search hard for ourselves and for every shiny pokémon. I escaped to show that it had no value to me, moreover I saw him twice after that, before eventually catch it, but no conclude it is nothing. It's a shiny pokemon anyway. I'm just disappointed that knowing the causes of this phenomenon would be exploited as well. It's like the nuclear discovery E = mc ² and the atomic bomb.

Alcune spiegazioni in inglese:

The Emerald RNG Abuse Guide A comprehensive guide to RNG abuse in Emerald, thanks to Arseus. General help and questions should be posted here:

Essentially, if you're a freak about legitimacy or just feel like doing this for fun/pleasure, Emerald's RNG is quite abusable due to it starting at zero or something like that everytime you reset the game

I. The Story

So one night I was uber battling on Shoddy. I fought a guy named Theorymon (who to my surprise battled me once randomly in PBR). We start talking about ubers, then Custap Wobbuffet, then he mentioned something about PID/IV in Emerald or something like that. He says he's found a long list of IVs/frames, and i asked him if it is the csv file in era404's video. He said it's much longer, but he did mention about getting it from there or so. Later that night, I looked for it and found it.

II. Spreadsheet Download

Original file

Philderbeast's translated file

If you can't get the megaupload download to work then either get the original file or manually translate it by yourself.

i. How to use the Japanese file

How to use the original chart

Quote:

On the sheet

14019,れいせい,27,8,24,20,30,19

14020,無補正,19,20,30,30,9,31

14021,れいせい,31,30,9,6,30,31

14022,いじっぱり,31,6,30,14,19,17

14023,無補正,17,14,19,0,26,4

What it's supposed to be

14019,無補正,27,8,24,20,30,19

14020,れいせい,19,20,30,30,9,31

14021,いじっぱり,31,30,9,6,30,31

14022,無補正,31,6,30,14,19,17

14023,[get the pattern? The nature after. Look it up in the spreadsheet. But for those of you lazy enough to not do it, ずぶとい], 17,14,19,0,26,4

Let's translate that

14019,Neutral,27,8,24,20,30,19

14020,Quiet,19,20,30,30,9,31

14021,Adamant,31,30,9,6,30,31

14022,Neutral,31,6,30,14,19,17

14023,Bold,17,14,19,0,26,4

ii. How to manually translate

Quote:

I used Excel

And did Find and Replace.

Since the natures are just scrambled characters in Excel, I opened the csv in an Applocale'd Notepad

Then I located the gibberish stuff in Excel on the Notepad document, found the corresponding natures.

I replaced the gibberish stuff with the correct translated natures

Once that's done, I moved the whole IVs column down by one space to match with the natures

Technically, I'm one frame off after doing this, but it's pretty irrelevant.

III. Explanation

Now I don't want to write down every explanation over and over again. This explains on how to get the target frame; it's not necessarily frame/60. Also let's not forget an important piece to remember when using the RNG manipulation: START YOUR STOPWATCH OR COUNTDOWN AT THE MOMENT YOU RESET YOUR GAME. That is, right when you press A+B+START+SELECT.

Quote:

- The frames on the spreadsheet aren't necessarily exact (though the ordering is true) So when it says frame 11279 for Lugia, it's really not 11279

- The adjustment for frames for legendaries aren't the same. For instance, I often find Rayquaza's IV spread appearing 80 or something frames earlier than what it is on the spreadsheet. For Lugia's it's over 250+ frames earlier than the spreadsheet. This leads me to believe that Lugia's PID is set not when you talk to it, but right after it causes the ground to rumble.

3:03.84 is approximately 11030 frames.

- With that I'm assuming Southern Island's Lati@s' PID is set when it actually talks to you, not when you examine the egg. How many frames you have to subtract I do not know.

- How did I find the time needed to get what I wish? Well I turned the frames originally listed in the spreadsheet into seconds. I inputted that in a timer, and after it reaches zero, I click A on the Pokemon. I catch it, and locate where the IVs are located in the spreadsheet, and see how many frames I need to subtract in order to achieve that.

I'll give an example. My Bold Lugia comes at frame 11279. I inputted that frame into a calc and got 3:13. So I went and resetted.

So let's say this is what I got (well I remembered I got somewhere around here, so I'll assume that this is what I got).

11574, Jolly, 15,26,14,25,11,22

As you see it's way off the target frame. So I subtract 11574 by 11279, and I get 295. Then I subtract 11279 by that 295, and got 10984. I divided that by 60, getting 183.06 (3:03.06). I reset with that time, and see how far I got. Then I repeat the process over and over, adding or subtracting the amount of frames needed to get close to what I need.

Remember that even if the target frame is the same for two Pokemon, the amount of frames you need to wait until you press A differs. This is probably due to the fact that several Pokemon have extended overworld animations over the others (such as Latias and Lugia).

IV. Some Nice Spreads

This section will be revamped and reorganized. But as of now this is what I have.

V. Emloop-An Amazing Applet.

A tool that can be used to time when to press A on the legends. It can also be used to locate frames above 39999, and can also find frames where Shiny Pokemon occurs using your Trainer ID and Secret ID. Using this tool, I've managed to get

Shiny Groudon

Impish

28/13/29/30/20/31

Obviously there are different shinies for every people, so use this tool well. There's a catch: it's in Japanese. Good luck translating it!

Reminder: All legendaries, including roaming Lati@s, and Mossdeep Beldum are created by Method 1.

  • Legendary Pokemon

  • Starter Pokemon

  • Eevee in Fire Red and Leaf Green

  • Castform and Beldum in Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald

Though you can't get Eevee in Emerald anyways.

IV. RNG Reporter - Works with Emerald, go figure.

Generates spreads for Emerald, also useful for breeding in emerald.

VII. X-Treem.nl .::. Pokémon Emerald PRNG

SITE IS DOWN

This amazing database you can search for any method 1 spread from 0-over 300000 frames. Not only that, you can search by nature, IVs, etc, and it can be organized numerically, nature wise, Hidden Power wise, average IVs and more. This is an extremely useful website and I recommend that you use it. However, it lacks the shiny locating option in Emloop (which is linked in there). Still, VERY useful

I would like to credit Vliegtuig and Wichu for their hard work. Wichu for finding the natures/IVs untit whatever number it is now, and Vliegtuig for creating the Website.

This section used to be the legends IV section, but I'm sure you can search those up yourself.

Vliegtuig's Input on Legendary Natures:

Parenthesized means try to avoid unless you don't have better options, but it's there.

Code:

Rayquaza - Adamant, Jolly, Hasty, Naive, (Timid), (Modest), (Lonely), (Naughty), (Rash), (Mild)

Lugia - Bold, Timid, (Calm), (Impish)
Ho-oh - Adamant, Jolly, Modest, Timid

Deoxys
Atk - Hasty, Naive, Adamant, Jolly
Def - Careful, Calm, Bold
Spe - Hasty, Timid, Modest
(Nor - Rash, Naive, Naughty)

Latios - Timid, Modest, Lonely [DD Mixed], Adamant [Dragon Dance]

Lileep - Careful, Adamant

Mudkip - Relaxed, Impish, Careful, Adamant
Treecko - Timid, Jolly, (Modest), (Adamant)
Torchic - Mild, Adamant, Jolly, (Modest)
(NOTE: You can't target the Shiny Hoenn starters if you are incapable of checking your Secret ID yourself, as you'll need to capture 6 Pokemon to Pal Park if you are to get someone to check your SID)

Chikorita - Bold, Adamant
Cyndaquil - Mild, Rash, Timid, Modest
Totodile - Adamant, Jolly

VIII. Legendary Delays

As I have previously mentioned, you need to press A (or in Kyogre/Groudon's case, walk to it), a good amount of frames before the actual spread. These aren't exact, but close approximates. Credits are in parentheses.

(INCOMPLETE)

Regirock: 106 frames (Wichu)

Regice:

Registeel: 70 frames (yellowfire7)

Latias: 400 frames

Latios: 412 frames

Kyogre: ~280 frames (Arael)

Groudon:

Rayquaza: 84 frames

Deoxys: Somewhere around 6 seconds

Lugia: 300 frames

Ho-oh: 370 frames (Lokathor)

Mew: ~80 frames (unsure)

IX. Closing Words

Remember that this thread is not complete. There's still a lot that are left to be translated; I'm fairly certain the Japanese discovered much more than this, so if any of you are willing to undertake this job, you can help expand this thread to significantly bigger proportions (and be much more organized than it is now). With cooperation from everyone, I'm sure that we can find the info that allows us to not only get good resettables, but also great parents for breeding right off the bat (though everyone has good IVed Pokes so it probably doesn't matter).

Well, happy hunting! Hope I've explained it all. Feel free to add anything I missed

Oh and no complaining about this stuff either. I don't want to hear about it. If you think this ruins WiFi then quit trading and stop playing Pokemon. I know how discouraging being outclassed is (that is, if you breed a ton and finally get your amazing guy, which then gets trampled by someone using Emerald), but seriously DEAL WITH IT. It's just Pokemon >_>. Expect me to lock your thread and infract you if I hear you complaining about how this "Emerald haxing" ruins the WiFi economy, which doesn't even truly exist in the first place :/

X. Credits:

- Theorymon, for telling me about this

- Whoever made this spreadsheet. I can attest that it's very accurate, though the frames need adjusting.

- Arseus for translating it, though people say Megaupload isn't working for them

- Philderbeast for making the English file available for download

- Mario with Lasers for more spreads (though anyone could do that).

- The people who created the Emloop web applet, for creating an applet that located an amazing Shiny spread in my Emerald.

- dr00 for telling us that the Calm spread has HP Fire

- Peterko for the Careful spreads (some overlap with mine because I C/Ped)

- Vliegtuig for natures input (with my edits), and the amazing database

- Wichu for getting the stats for up to 99999 frames
